“Robot” is the ambition: capable tools that can perceive, reason, and act. “Potato” is the correction: ordinary, useful, adaptable, and difficult to take too seriously.
AI companies often reach for names that sound inevitable, celestial, or all-knowing. We wanted something warmer and more honest.
